Basketball Wives

Basketball Wives is a VH1 reality television series that follows the lives of women connected to professional basketball players. The show initially filmed in Miami for five seasons (2010-2013), then a spin-off, Basketball Wives LA, aired for five seasons (2011-2016). The original series was rebooted and moved to Los Angeles in 2017 for its sixth season, incorporating some LA cast members. The network considers the subsequent seasons as a continuation of the original series.

April 11, 2010: Basketball Wives Miami Premieres

2015: Potential franchise expansion

Since 2015, Shaunie O'Neal has discussed expanding the franchise to other cities, such as Houston, Dallas and Orlando.

June 30, 2016: Shaunie's Home Court Announced

On June 30, 2016, VH1 announced its new series "Shaunie's Home Court", which will follow O'Neal behind-the-scenes at home, where she spends the days tending to her brood of five.

October 23, 2016: Last episode of Basketball Wives LA

On October 23, 2016, the last episode of Basketball Wives LA aired. The original Basketball Wives was rebooted and relocated to Los Angeles after this.

March 27, 2017: Basketball Wives Relaunch Announcement

On March 27, 2017, VH1 announced that Basketball Wives would be retooled and aired under its original moniker after nearly four years off the air.

May 14, 2018: Basketball Wives Season Seven Premieres

On May 14, 2018, season seven of Basketball Wives premiered with Jennifer promoted to the main cast. New cast members were introduced.

June 19, 2019: Basketball Wives Season Eight Premieres

February 9, 2021: Basketball Wives Season Nine Premieres

On February 9, 2021, after a hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Basketball Wives returned for a ninth season with new cast members Liza Morales, Nia Dorsey, and Noria Dorsey.

April 2022: Evelyn Lozada Announces Departure
