February 1974: Moto-X Fox Inc. Founded

In February 1974, Geoff Fox established Moto-X Fox Inc. (later Fox Head Inc.), a company focused on distributing components for motocross bikes.

1975: Bob Fox Joins Moto-X Fox Inc.

In late 1974 or early 1975, Bob Fox joined Moto-X Fox Inc. as the leader of the Fox AirShox division, contributing his expertise in developing the Fox AirShox.

1977: Fox Factory Inc. Separates

In 1977, Bob Fox separated the Airshox division from Moto-X Fox Inc., establishing it as Fox Factory Inc., now known as Fox Racing Shox.

2021: Fox Factory Continues Acquisitions

Through 2021, Fox Factory continued to acquire several groups spanning mountain bike, truck suspension, turn-key truck unfitting, performance car suspension, and custom designed adventure van categories.

January 2025: Fox Fork Models Available

As of January 2025, Fox forks are named based on stanchion diameter with available models being 32, 34, 36, 38 and 40. These forks have different dampers, such as Grip/Grip2, Fit GRIP/Fit4, GripX/X2, offering different ranges of adjustability for high and low speed compression and rebound.

2025: Availability of Wheel Sizes and Steerer Tubes

As of 2025, Fox Factory's products are available in 27.5" and 29" wheel sizes (except where noted) and tapered steerer tubes, with straight 1-1/8" tubes on select models.
