During the 2023 regular season, Iamaleava served as the backup quarterback. He became the starting quarterback for the Citrus Bowl in January and led Tennessee to a 35-0 victory over Iowa, earning the Citrus Bowl MVP award.
In 2023, Nico Iamaleava finished his high school career playing for Warren High School and Long Beach Polytechnic High School.
