Bridgerton

Bridgerton is a Regency-era romance series on Netflix, created by Chris Van Dusen and produced by Shondaland, based on Julia Quinn's novels. The show features an ensemble cast including Adjoa Andoh, Nicola Coughlan, Phoebe Dynevor and others. It presents an alternative history, exploring love and society within the British high society.

1956: Suite for Variety Orchestra Written

Dmitri Shostakovich's Suite for Variety Orchestra, a classical music piece used in Bridgerton's first season, was written sometime after 1956, making it anachronistic to the show's 1813 setting.

2001: Inspiration for Orchestral Covers

In 2001, the director and executive producer Julie Anne Robinson found inspiration in the use of classic rock songs in the film "A Knight's Tale" which led to the first season featuring orchestral covers of contemporary popular music.
