CJ Cup

The CJ Cup was a PGA Tour professional golf tournament that began in 2017, sponsored by CJ Group. For its first three years, it was held at Nine Bridges Golf Club on Jeju Island, South Korea. Due to COVID-19 travel restrictions, the tournament was moved to the United States in 2020, taking place at Shadow Creek Golf Course in North Las Vegas. In 2021, it remained in the Las Vegas area at The Summit Club in Summerlin. The 2022 edition was held at Congaree Golf Club in Gillisonville, South Carolina.

October 2017: Inaugural CJ Cup Tournament

In October 2017, the CJ Cup, a new professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour sponsored by CJ Group, was played for the first time at the Nine Bridges Golf Club on Jeju Island, South Korea.

2020: Tournament Moved to Las Vegas

In 2020, due to COVID-19 pandemic travel restrictions, the CJ Cup was moved to Shadow Creek Golf Course in North Las Vegas, Nevada, as part of a Las Vegas Swing.

2021: Tournament Remains in Las Vegas Area

In 2021, plans to return the CJ Cup to South Korea were abandoned, and the tournament remained in the Las Vegas area, moving to The Summit Club in Summerlin.

2022: Event Held in South Carolina

In 2022, the CJ Cup event was held at Congaree Golf Club in Gillisonville, South Carolina, near Hilton Head Island.

2024: CJ Group Sponsors The Byron Nelson

In 2024, the CJ Group became the title sponsor of The Byron Nelson under a ten-year sponsorship, transferring the CJ Cup title to it as the "CJ Cup Byron Nelson".
