Cole Younger

Thomas Coleman "Cole" Younger was a Confederate guerrilla during the American Civil War and a notorious outlaw, best known as a leader within the James–Younger Gang. Along with the James brothers, the Younger brothers, including Cole, Jim, John, and Bob, formed the core of this infamous group. Following years of bank and train robberies, Cole and his brothers were captured after the disastrous Northfield, Minnesota raid in 1876. He was sentenced to life in prison, paroled in 1901, and eventually released. After his release, Cole Younger attempted acting and lecturing before returning to Missouri, where he died in 1916.
