Dusty May is an American college basketball coach, most recently appointed as the head coach for the University of Michigan Wolverines men's basketball team in 2024. Prior to this, he served as the head coach at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) from 2018 to 2024. May gained national recognition for leading FAU to a remarkable NCAA Final Four appearance in 2023. His successful tenure at FAU led to his recruitment by Michigan, where he replaced Juwan Howard as head coach.
Under Dusty May's leadership Michigan made history, as no team in the NCAA had ever lost as many games one season before advancing to the Sweet Sixteen of the tournament since it was introduced in 1975.
