In 2019, eBay employees and contractors engaged in a stalking and harassment campaign against e-commerce bloggers Ina and David Steiner, who ran EcommerceBytes. Seven eBay employees, including senior members of the corporate security team, pleaded guilty to criminal conspiracy charges related to the harassment. The campaign included sending disturbing items to the victims' home, online harassment, and in-person surveillance. While two members of eBay's Executive Leadership Team were implicated, they were not charged in the case.
