In 1998, Xol returned to the United States, transitioning from music composition and entertainment production to the world of lifestyle and design. He began working with his father, learning the art of bonsai tree care, which significantly influenced his design aesthetic and life philosophy.
On August 7, 2007, reruns of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, featuring Xol as a co-star since Season 2, started airing on TV Land. The show is also syndicated on CMT.
In the spring of 2007, HarperCollins published Eduardo's first book, "Home Sense".
In the fall of 2008, Penguin Group published Eduardo's second book, "Extreme Entertaining Made Simple", which included a CD of original and licensed music. That same year, his first book, "Home Sense", received the Best Self-Help Book award at the International Latino Book Awards.
In 2010, Xol was featured as the celebrity designer for Hayneedle.com's multimillion-dollar "Backyard Summer" campaign, focusing on outdoor design and living.
