Gaza City, located in the Gaza Strip, Palestine, serves as the capital of the Gaza Governorate. Situated on the Mediterranean coast, it once housed Palestine's only port. In 2017, its population was 590,481, making it the most populous city in Palestine before displacement due to the Gaza war. It is located 76.6 kilometers southwest of Jerusalem.
