Got7 is a seven-member South Korean boy band formed in 2014 by JYP Entertainment. The group consists of members Jay B, Mark, Jackson, Jinyoung, Youngjae, BamBam, and Yugyeom. They debuted with the EP *Got It?* which was a success in South Korea and on the Billboard charts. Got7 is known for incorporating martial arts and street dance into their performances.
Prior to Got7's debut in 2014, JYP Entertainment's last boy group debut was 2PM in 2008.
Jay B and Jinyoung joined JYP Entertainment in 2009 after successfully passing open auditions.
Mark and BamBam were scouted by JYP Entertainment in 2010 in Los Angeles and Bangkok, respectively. Yugyeom also became a JYP trainee that year.
Jackson passed JYP Entertainment's overseas audition in Hong Kong in 2011 and began his training in the summer.
Jay B and Jinyoung, under the stage name Junior, debuted as actors in the television drama Dream High 2 in 2012. They also debuted as the pop duo JJ Project with the single "Bounce".
Mark, Jackson, BamBam, and Yugyeom appeared on the reality-survival program Who is Next: WIN on September 6, 2013, marking their first television appearance as a group. Youngjae, the final member, joined the group after seven months of training.
In 2013, the duo JJ Project (Jay B and Jinyoung) appeared as actors in the drama When a Man Falls in Love.
JYP Entertainment officially announced Got7 on January 1, 2014, marking their first boy group debut since 2PM in 2008.

In 2014, Got7 signed with Sony Music Entertainment Japan, venturing into the Japanese market with their debut Japanese-language single "Around the World". They also released their first full-length studio album, Identify, in South Korea, which topped the nation's charts.
Got7 released their second Japanese single, "Love Train", on June 10, 2015, which debuted at number four on the Oricon Singles Chart.
Got7's third EP, Just Right, was released on July 13, 2015. The title track, "Just Right", peaked at number three on Billboard's World Digital Songs chart.
Got7 released the EPs Just Right and Mad in 2015, with "Just Right" becoming their most commercially successful single.
Got7 released their first full-length Japanese studio album, Moriagatteyo, on February 3, 2016, featuring 12 original Japanese songs and Japanese versions of their Korean singles.
Got7 and their labelmate Twice were named clothing ambassadors for NBA Style Korea on February 15, 2016.
Got7 released their fifth EP, Flight Log: Departure, and its title track, "Fly", on March 21, 2016.
Got7 entered the Billboard Artist 100 chart at number 45 on April 9, 2016, becoming the second K-pop act to chart on the ranking.
Got7 released their first full-length Japanese studio album, Moriagatteyo, in 2016, which reached number three on the Oricon Albums Chart.
In February 2017, the donation area G+ Star Zone reopened, featuring portraits of Got7 to raise funds for underprivileged teenagers.
Got7 released their second Japanese EP, "Turn Up", and began their "Got7 Japan Tour 2017: Turn Up" in 2017. Jackson was unable to participate due to health and scheduling conflicts.
Got7's fifth Korean EP Flight Log: Departure, their second full-length studio album Flight Log: Turbulence, and the final part of the Flight Log series, the EP Flight Log: Arrival, were all chart-toppers. Flight Log: Arrival became their first album to sell over 300,000 copies.
Got7's involvement in NHK Educational TV's TV Hangul Course, where they appeared as students and performed skits, concluded in March 2018 after two years.
Got7's third studio album, 'Present: You', was released on November 8, 2018, and achieved platinum certification by Gaon Chart.
Alongside their world tour in 2018, Got7 also held a tour in Japan named 'Got7 Japan Fan Connecting Hall Tour 2018: THE New Era', promoting their Japanese single "THE New Era".
In 2018, Got7 embarked on their 'Eyes On You' world tour, captivating audiences across Asia, Europe, North America, and South America.
On March 3, 2019, Got7 members Jay B and Yugyeom debuted as the sub-unit Jus2, releasing their music video 'Focus on Me'.
Got7 donated 30 million won to the Hope Bridge National Reunion Relief Association in April 2019, supporting those affected by the Gangwon-do forest fires.
Got7's ninth extended play, 'Spinning Top: Between Security & Insecurity', was released on May 20, 2019, achieving significant sales milestones.
'Call My Name', Got7's tenth extended play, was released on November 4, 2019, and featured the lead single "You Calling My Name".
Got7 received the Korea Volunteering Grand Award at the 2019 Korea Sharing Volunteer Awards for their community contributions.
By January 8, 2020, the music video for Got7's "Just Right" had surpassed 300 million views on YouTube, marking their first music video to achieve this milestone.
On April 20, 2020, Got7 released their eleventh extended play, 'Dye', featuring the lead single "Not By the Moon".
Got7's 'Keep Spinning' world tour, which began in 2019, was extended into 2020 with additional dates added for Asian countries.
JYP Entertainment announced on January 10, 2021, that Got7's exclusive contracts would be expiring.
Got7 left JYP Entertainment in January 2021 after their contract with the agency expired.
Got7's exclusive contract with JYP Entertainment officially ended on January 19, 2021, marking their departure from the agency.
Got7 surprised fans with a teaser for their upcoming single "Encore" on February 19, 2021, on a new YouTube channel.
Got7 unveiled a new logo and launched new social media accounts under Warner Music Korea on May 6, 2022, signaling their return.
