History of Gun in Timeline
A gun is a device designed to launch projectiles by means of explosive force or pressure. While initially designed as military weapons and later adopted for hunting, guns have diversified into various forms, including toy guns, water guns, and paintball guns, serving a range of purposes beyond their original military application. Large-caliber guns are often referred to as cannons.
1918: Introduction of MP 18.1 Submachine Gun
In 1918, the German Army introduced the MP 18.1, the world's first submachine gun maneuverable by a single soldier, into service during World War I. Invented by Theodor Bergmann, it became the primary weapon for the Stosstruppen, assault groups specializing in trench combat.
