Invincible (comics)

Invincible is a comic book series by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, published by Image Comics. It centers on Mark Grayson, a half-Viltrumite teenager who becomes the superhero Invincible, son of Omni-Man. The story follows his evolution as a hero, dealing with threats, relationships, and the complex legacy of his Viltrumite heritage. The series ran for 144 issues and has spawned several spin-offs. It has also been adapted into an animated series on Amazon Prime Video. The comic explores themes of superheroism, family, and the burden of power.

2007: Trade Paperback Collections Released

In the summer of 2007, Capes was collected as a trade paperback. The three Brit one-shots were colored and published as a collection in 2007, as well.

February 8, 2018: Issue #144 release

On February 8, 2018, issue #144 was released, with Walker returning as artist.

February 14, 2018: Invincible Comic Series Concludes

On February 14, 2018, the Invincible comic series concluded with the release of issue #144, marking the end of the series.

January 2021: Live-Action Film Still in Development

October 2022: 20th Anniversary Celebration Announced

In October 2022, it was announced that in 2023, in celebration of the series' 20th anniversary, its first issue would be getting a reprinted facsimile edition reprint and a deluxe edition reprint, compendiums 1-3 would be getting comic shop exclusive hardcover versions, and there would be a reprint of the series in a new 6"x9" graphic novel format with new covers from Cory Walker and Dave McCaig, an Invincible Universe compendium, and a secret announcement in January 2023.

In January 2023, the secret announcement from the previous October was revealed to be a teaser for season two of the Invincible animated show.

In 2023, Omni-Man appeared as a playable DLC character in Mortal Kombat 1, with J. K. Simmons reprising the role. Invincible also cameos in the game.

On February 21, 2024, the mobile game Invincible: Guarding the Globe was released worldwide for iOS and Android.
