James Patrick "Jim" Moran Jr. is an American politician who served as the mayor of Alexandria, Virginia, from 1985 to 1990. He then represented Virginia's 8th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1991 to 2015. The district included cities like Falls Church and Alexandria, all of Arlington County, and part of Fairfax County. Moran's career spanned local and federal levels of government.
