Lynn Bank Block

The Lynn Bank Block, a three-story historic bank building located at 21–29 Exchange Street in Lynn, Massachusetts, was constructed in 1891 for the First National Bank of Lynn and the Lynn Institution for Savings. Built in the Colonial Revival style, it stands as the first of its kind in Lynn's reconstruction efforts following the devastating fire of 1889, which ravaged a significant portion of the central business district. Predominantly Romanesque Revival structures characterized the earlier rebuilding phase. The building's architecture features a prominent central entryway, distinguished by an arch encompassing a recessed doorway and a Palladian window overhead, flanked by columns. Extending on either side of this entry are three window bays. The building was designed for joint occupancy by the two banking institutions, each occupying a separate side.
