Morgan Wallen is an American country and country pop singer who gained initial recognition on The Voice in 2014. After being eliminated from the show, he pursued a music career, releasing his debut EP Stand Alone in 2015. He then signed with Big Loud, releasing his second EP The Way I Talk in 2016. Wallen's debut album If I Know Me (2018) featured popular singles like "Whiskey Glasses" and reached No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart after a record-breaking 114 weeks.

On February 2, 2021, TMZ released a video recorded on January 31 showing Morgan Wallen using a racial slur. He apologized shortly after, but radio stations temporarily removed his music, and his record label suspended his contract.
In April 2021, Morgan Wallen donated $300,000 to the Black Music Action Coalition in the names of 20 people who had counseled him following the racial slur incident. His songs later returned to country radio in August and he was nominated for two American Music Awards, though he was not invited to the ceremony.
In 2021, Morgan Wallen's "Dangerous: The Double Album" achieved significant success, debuting atop the Billboard 200 and the Canadian Albums Chart. On April 7, 2024, Morgan Wallen was arrested after allegedly throwing a chair off the roof of Eric Church's bar in Nashville, and was charged with felony reckless endangerment and misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
