MyKayla Skinner Harmer is a retired American artistic gymnast, known for her achievements at both the collegiate and international levels. She won a silver medal in vault at the 2020 Olympics as an individual competitor and was an alternate for the 2016 Olympic team. A significant contributor to the U.S. team's gold medal at the 2014 World Championships, she also earned an individual bronze on vault. During her senior career, she secured 11 medals at the USA National Championships. Skinner further distinguished herself as a two-time NCAA champion while competing for the University of Utah, setting Pac-12 records.

In 2011, Skinner attended Higley High School as a freshman while training at Desert Lights Gymnastics.
In 2011, Skinner was the junior individual all-around champion of the American Classic and was named to the junior U.S. national team after finishing 10th in the all-around and second on vault at the National Championships.
In 2012, Skinner became age-eligible for senior-level competition and was added to the U.S. senior national team. She was a member of the winning U.S. squad at the City of Jesolo Trophy in March. She competed in the Olympic Trials but was not selected for the 2012 U.S women's Olympic team.
Starting in 2012, Skinner was homeschooled.
In 2013, Skinner competed at the Fiesta Bowl, winning every individual event except for the floor exercise. At the 2013 P&G Championships, she placed third on vault and floor, and finished sixth in the all-around.
In November 2014, Skinner signed a National Letter of Intent for the University of Utah and the Utah Red Rocks program.
In 2014, MyKayla Skinner competed at the World Championships, contributing to the U.S. team's gold medal win and also securing an individual bronze medal on vault.

On July 25, 2015, Skinner finished 7th in the all-around at the U.S. Classic, scoring 55.500. She finished 12th on the balance beam, ninth on the balance beam, second on vault, and placed 10th on bars.
In 2015, Skinner placed second to Simone Biles at the AT&T American Cup in Arlington, Texas, with a score of 57.832.
In 2015, Skinner was named an alternate to the USA team for the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships.
Following being named an alternate to the 2016 Olympics, Skinner retweeted a photograph of the U.S. team with her picture edited over that of Gabby Douglas and included emojis deemed racist. She later apologized saying, "I'm sorry if I offended anyone...."

In 2016, Skinner enrolled at the University of Utah as an NCAA women's gymnastics team member and competed in the all-around. During her freshman season, Skinner won 43 total events. She was the PAC-12 champion in the individual all-around and on vault and floor exercises. At the NCAA Championships, Skinner finished second in the individual all-around and was a national champion on floor exercise.
In 2016, Skinner finished 10th in the all-around and won a silver medal on vault and a bronze medal on floor exercise at the U.S. National Championships, earning her an invitation to the U.S. Olympic Trials.

At the 2018 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championship Skinner won silver in the all-around and tied for first on vault.
On April 25, 2019, Skinner returned to elite gymnastics to attempt to compete at the 2020 Olympics. She was invited to attend the June national team training camp.
On October 16, 2019, Skinner announced on Instagram that she was engaged to Jonas Harmer, whom she met while studying at the University of Utah.
On November 14, 2019, Skinner and Jonas Harmer were married.

In 2021, Skinner finished fifth in the all-around at the Olympic Trials and was selected to represent the U.S. in the non-nominative spot at the Tokyo Olympics, competing as an individual.

In 2024, Skinner criticized the 2024 Olympic team in a since-deleted YouTube video. She made comments about talent, work ethic, Sunisa Lee's body, and mispronounced Hezly Rivera's name. This led to backlash, and after the U.S. team won gold, Simone Biles referenced Skinner's comments, resulting in Skinner blocking Biles on social media. Current and past gymnasts criticized Skinner's comments.
