Pershing Square (Los Angeles)

Pershing Square is a one-square-block public park located in Downtown Los Angeles, California. Originally dedicated in 1866 as La Plaza Abaja, it has been renamed several times before being dedicated to General John J. Pershing in 1918. It is bounded by 5th Street, 6th Street, Hill Street, and Olive Street. The park provides green space and serves as a gathering place in the urban environment of downtown Los Angeles.
