Rebecca Cheptegei is a Ugandan long-distance and marathon runner. She competed for Uganda at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, participating in the women's marathon event.

In 2014, Rebecca Cheptegei competed in various races. She secured 14th place in the 5000 meters at the Meeting Iberoamericano de Atletismo in Huelva, 8th place in the 3000 meters at the Reunion Internacional De Atletismo in Bilbao, 1st place in the Santa Pola 10km, and 3rd place in the African Cross Country Championships in Kampala.
In 2016, Rebecca Cheptegei participated in the Half Marathon in Quanzhou and achieved a 3rd place finish.
Rebecca Cheptegei's 2017 season began with a 12th place finish in the Shanghai Half Marathon. She then went on to achieve 3rd place in the 5 km and 2nd place in the 10,000 m race at the Ugandan Championships in Kampala. The year concluded with a 4th place finish for her at the Brazzaville Half Marathon.
Rebecca Cheptegei participated in the Half Marathon in Kampala in 2018 and secured a 4th place finish.
In 2019, Rebecca Cheptegei achieved a 2nd place finish in the Semi Marathon Eiffage de Dakar. She also participated in the Ugandan Championships at Mandela National Stadium in Kampala, securing 5th place in the 10,000 m race.
Rebecca Cheptegei returned to racing in 2021 after the COVID-19 restrictions. She placed 3rd and 5th in the 4th and 7th UAF Trials at Mandela National Stadium in Kampala. She then achieved 47th place in the Eldoret City Marathon and 2nd place in the Kampala Half Marathon. Notably, she won the first World Mountain and Trail Running Championships in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
In September 2024, Rebecca Cheptegei suffered severe burns after being doused in petrol and set on fire by her boyfriend in Trans-Nzoia County, Kenya. She was hospitalized in critical condition.
On September 1, 2024, Rebecca Cheptegei was attacked in Kenya. Her boyfriend, Dickson Ndiema, allegedly doused her in petrol and set her on fire following an argument. The attack left her with burns covering approximately 75% of her body, and she was hospitalized in critical condition.
