SSG Landers are a South Korean professional baseball team competing in the KBO League. Originally established as the SK Wyverns, the team was rebranded in 2021 following its acquisition by Shinsegae from SK Group. Based in Incheon, the Landers play their home games at Incheon SSG Landers Field.
In 1990, the Ssangbangwool Raiders were established representing the Jeollabuk-do region.
In 2000, the Ssangbangwool Raiders were dissolved due to the bankruptcy of the Ssangbangwool Group. The KBO League awarded a new franchise to SK conglomerate, named SK Wyverns, consisting mostly of former Raiders players.
In November 2007, SK Wyverns competed in the Konami Cup, defeating the Chunichi Dragons, China All-Stars, and Uni-President 7-Eleven Lions, but lost to the Chunichi Dragons in the final game.
In 2007, SK defeated Doosan to win their second Korean Series championship.
In 2007, SK defeated the Doosan Bears in six games to win the 2007 Korean Series after finishing the season in first place. Kim Jae-hyun was the series MVP.
In November 2008, SK Wyverns competed in the Konami Cup, defeating the Seibu Lions and Tianjin Lions, but lost to the Uni-President 7-Eleven Lions.
In 2008, SK Wyverns went 83–43–0 and defeated the Doosan Bears to win their second Korean Series championship. Choi Jeong was named the 2008 Korean Series MVP.
In 2009, SK Wyverns were runners-up in the 2009 KBO season and Korean Series, losing to the KIA Tigers.
In April 2010, SK Wyverns' 22-game winning streak ended, which was the longest winning streak in Korean Baseball at the time.
In 2011, SK reached the Korean Series, where they were defeated by the Samsung Lions.
In 2011, manager Kim Sung-keun was ousted mid-season due to a disagreement with the SK front office, leading to Lee Man-soo taking over.
In 2012, SK reached the Korean Series, where they were defeated by the Samsung Lions.
In 2018, SK faced the Doosan Bears again in the Korean Series and won another championship.
In January 2021, Shinsegae announced it would acquire the SK Wyverns baseball club from SK Telecom for 135.2 billion won ($122 million).
On 23 February 2021, the deal for Shinsegae to acquire the SK Wyverns was finalized.
In 2021, the SK Wyverns were renamed as the SSG Landers after Shinsegae acquired the team from SK Group.
In 2022, SSG Landers won the regular season championship with 88 wins and subsequently won the 2022 Korean Series, defeating Kiwoom Heroes 4–2.
On 15 January 2024, the Landers unveiled a new logo and uniform design, designed in collaboration with Todd Radom and Bill Frederick.
