On 15 March 1995, Shivangi Singh was born in the Muzaffarpur district of Bihar, India, to Hari Bhushan Singh and Priyanka Singh. Her father was a school teacher and her mother a housewife. Her early exposure to a politician's helicopter ignited her ambition to become a pilot.
June 2018: Commissioned into the Indian Navy
In June 2018, Shivangi was commissioned into the Indian Navy under the Short Service Commission (SSC)-Pilot entry scheme.
December 2019: Slated to become operational pilot
As of December 2019, Shivangi is slated to subsequently become an operational pilot on Maritime Reconnaissance (MR) aircraft after completing her training.
December 2019: Learned to fly the Dornier aircraft
In the six months prior to December 2019, Shivangi learned to fly the Dornier aircraft at the Indian Naval Air Squadron 550.
