Today's New International Version

The Today's New International Version (TNIV) is an English translation of the Bible, built upon the New International Version (NIV). Published in full in February 2005, with the New Testament released earlier in March 2002, the TNIV, like the NIV, adheres to a Protestant canon, excluding deuterocanonical books. Biblica owns the rights to the text, while Zondervan and Hodder & Stoughton published the TNIV in North America and Europe respectively. The TNIV is an explicitly Protestant translation.

1978: NIV Publication

In 1978, the New International Version (NIV) was originally published, serving as the foundation for the subsequent Today's New International Version (TNIV).

1984: 1984 NIV edition

In 1984, the edition of the NIV bible was published which was later discontinued in 2011.

March 2002: TNIV New Testament Publication

In March 2002, the New Testament portion of the Today's New International Version (TNIV) was published.

June 2002: Opposition to TNIV

In June 2002, over 100 evangelical leaders signed a 'Statement of Concern' opposing the TNIV, and both the Presbyterian Church in America and the Southern Baptist Convention passed resolutions against the TNIV and other inclusive-language translations.

February 2005: Complete Bible Publication

In February 2005, the complete Today's New International Version (TNIV) Bible was published.
