Tory Lanez, born Daystar Peterson, is a Canadian rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer. He gained recognition with his 2013 mixtape and later signed with Mad Love Records/Interscope in 2015. In December 2022, Lanez was found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the summer of 2020, resulting in convictions for assault with a semiautomatic firearm, discharging a firearm with gross negligence, and having a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison in August 2023.
