Travis Hunter Jr. is a professional football player known for playing both cornerback and wide receiver. He achieved fame playing college football for Jackson State and Colorado, winning the Heisman Trophy with the Buffaloes in 2024. He uniquely won both the Chuck Bednarik and Fred Biletnikoff Awards in college. Hunter was drafted second overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2025 NFL Draft.

On December 15, 2021, Travis Hunter changed his commitment to the Jackson State Tigers, coached by Deion Sanders. This made Hunter the first five-star recruit to sign with an HBCU or FCS school.
In 2022, Travis Hunter played in the Polynesian Bowl and earned the offensive MVP award with five receptions for 54 yards.
In 2022, as a freshman at Jackson State, Travis Hunter recorded 19 total tackles, eight pass breakups, two interceptions, one fumble recovery and one defensive touchdown in seven games. On offense he added 18 receptions for 188 yards and four touchdowns.
In 2023, Travis Hunter transferred to the University of Colorado Boulder, following coach Deion Sanders. During the 2023 season he had 57 receptions for 721 yards and five touchdowns on offense and 3 interceptions and 30 tackles on defense. He was also named a 2023 Consensus All-American and second-team All-PAC-12 and received the Paul Hornung Award.
In 2024, Travis Hunter won the Heisman Trophy while playing college football for the Colorado Buffaloes. He also won both the Chuck Bednarik Award and the Fred Biletnikoff Award in 2024, making him the only college football player to achieve this.
In April 2025, the University of Colorado retired Travis Hunter's No. 12 jersey to celebrate his achievements, including the 2024 Heisman Trophy and Walter Camp Award.
