USS Arkansas (BB-33)

USS Arkansas (BB-33) was a Wyoming-class dreadnought battleship in the United States Navy. The ship was the third US Navy vessel named after the state of Arkansas. Constructed by the New York Shipbuilding Corporation, she was laid down in January 1910, launched in January 1911, and commissioned in September 1912. Arkansas's primary armament consisted of twelve 12-inch (305 mm) guns. Capable of achieving a top speed of 20.5 knots, she represented a significant naval asset of her time.
