History of WWE 2K24 in Timeline

"WWE 2K24" is the 24th installment in the WWE video game franchise, developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K. As the successor to "WWE 2K23," this tenth entry in the "WWE 2K" series was launched on March 8, 2024, across multiple platforms including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

May 2023: Initial Announcement

During an earnings call in May 2023, 2K's parent company, Take-Two Interactive, revealed that WWE 2K24 was in development and scheduled for release within the 2024 fiscal year.

January 22, 2024: Official Game Announcement and Cover Reveal

On January 22, 2024, the game was officially announced, revealing its release date as March 8th and showcasing its cover stars: Cody Rhodes for the standard edition, Rhea Ripley and Bianca Belair for the deluxe edition, and a collage of WWE legends and current stars for the "40 Years of WrestleMania" edition.

March 8, 2024: WWE 2K24 Game Release

On March 8, 2024, WWE 2K24 was released worldwide for multiple gaming platforms, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

March 2024: Release Window Confirmation

The announcement in May 2023 also confirmed that WWE 2K24 would be released sometime during the March 2024 fiscal year.

April 3, 2024: "40 Years of WrestleMania" Edition Content Release

On April 3, 2024, part of the additional content included in the "40 Years of WrestleMania" edition of WWE 2K24 was released, featuring alternate outfits and MyFaction cards. The WrestleMania XL arena, also part of this edition, is set to be released later in the summer.
