"What Is Dead May Never Die" is the third episode of the second season of the fantasy drama television series Game of Thrones. The episode aired on April 15, 2012, and was written by Bryan Cogman and directed by Alik Sakharov.
On September 12, 2011, filming for "What Is Dead May Never Die" was significantly impacted by Hurricane Katia. High winds destroyed parts of the set at Renly's camp, injuring five extras. The hurricane also rendered some footage unusable, forcing the crew to rebuild the set and reshoot scenes, including the duel between Brienne and Loras and Catelyn's arrival, in October.
