Richard Manuel Jauron was an American professional football player and coach in the NFL. He played eight seasons in the NFL as a safety, five with the Detroit Lions and three with the Cincinnati Bengals. Jauron served as the head coach of the Chicago Bears from 1999 to 2003 and the Buffalo Bills from 2006 until November 2009. He also served as the interim head coach for the Lions for the final five games of the 2005 season. In 2001, he was named the AP Coach of the Year after leading the Bears to a 13–3 record.
On January 21, 2011, Dick Jauron was appointed as the defensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns, succeeding Rob Ryan.
On January 18, 2013, Dick Jauron's tenure as the Cleveland Browns' defensive coordinator ended when newly appointed head coach Rob Chudzinski hired Ray Horton to replace him.
