In 2015, the summer after his senior year of high school, Alec Bohm won the Connie Mack World Series Home Run Derby and tied for fourth place at the Triple-A Home Run Derby in Werner Park.
In 2016, as a freshman at Wichita State, Alec Bohm batted .303 with six home runs and 30 RBIs, earning him first-team Freshman All-American honors from Collegiate Baseball Newspaper. He also played in the Coastal Plain League where he was named the number one prospect by Baseball America.
In 2017, Alec Bohm played in the Cape Cod Baseball League for the Falmouth Commodores where he was named a league all-star and ranked second in the league with a .351 batting average.
