Alec Bohm is an American professional baseball third baseman currently playing for the Philadelphia Phillies in Major League Baseball (MLB).
On August 3, 1996, Alec Daniel Bohm was born. He would later become a professional baseball player.
In 2002, it was noted that the Philadelphia Phillies had lacked a strong third baseman since Scott Rolen was traded.
Despite being a top-rated player, Alec Bohm was not selected in the 2015 MLB draft, partly due to a growth spurt affecting his performance during scouting visits. He then accepted a scholarship to Wichita State.
In 2015, the summer after his senior year of high school, Alec Bohm won the Connie Mack World Series Home Run Derby and tied for fourth place at the Triple-A Home Run Derby in Werner Park.
In 2016, as a freshman at Wichita State, Alec Bohm batted .303 with six home runs and 30 RBIs, earning him first-team Freshman All-American honors from Collegiate Baseball Newspaper. He also played in the Coastal Plain League where he was named the number one prospect by Baseball America.
In 2017, Alec Bohm played in the Cape Cod Baseball League for the Falmouth Commodores where he was named a league all-star and ranked second in the league with a .351 batting average.
On June 12, 2018, Alec Bohm signed with the Philadelphia Phillies after being drafted, receiving a reported signing bonus of $5.85 million.
In 2018, Alec Bohm began his minor league season with the GCL Phillies and was later promoted to the Williamsport Crosscutters. His season was interrupted by a shin contusion after being hit by a pitch.
In 2018, Alec Bohm was named a Second-Team All-American by Baseball America and was a semifinalist for both the Golden Spikes Award and the Dick Howser Trophy. He also led the American Athletic Conference in runs scored and home runs.

In 2020, Alec Bohm made his Major League Baseball debut with the Philadelphia Phillies, becoming their everyday third baseman.
