Aonishiki Arata is a Ukrainian professional sumo wrestler hailing from Vinnytsia, Vinnytska Oblast. He is the second Ukrainian to join the world of professional sumo wrestling, following Shishi's debut in 2020. Aonishiki competes out of Ajigawa stable and has achieved a highest rank of sekiwake.
In 1958, the six-tournament system was introduced in sumo wrestling. Aonishiki became the fifth fastest promotion since the introduction of the six-tournament system after his debut.
In 2019, Yavhusishyn placed third at the World Junior Sumo Championships.
In 2021, Yavhusishyn finished ninth at the World Cadets Wrestling Championships in the Men's 110.0 kg category.
In December 2022, Yavhusishyn was formally accepted as one of Ajigawa stable's first recruits, overcoming initial reluctance due to recruitment restrictions and cultural concerns.
During his first professional tournament, Aonishiki won the jonokuchi division. Before him, Anōsho also won this division in July 2023.
In July 2023, Yavhusishyn officially joined Ajigawa stable's training camp and took the new apprentice examination.
In January 2024, Aonishiki won the jonidan division after a playoff against Kokonoe stable's Chiyotaiko, claiming his second championship.
In the March 2024 tournament, Aonishiki was promoted to sandanme, but his 20-bout winning streak since his debut ended with a loss to Nagamura.
In June 2024, Aonishiki was helped by Wakatakakage who assisted him with training.
In September 2025, Aonishiki was promoted to the rank of komusubi and also achieved his 100th victory since turning professional and finished the tournament with eleven wins. For his performances, he was awarded the Technique Prize for the second consecutive tournament.
During the 2025 January tournament, Aonishiki established himself as one of the leaders of the competition, competing with Shishi.

During the 2025 July tournament in Nagoya, Aonishiki earned his first ever career kinboshi on the third day by defeating yokozuna Hōshōryū and also was awarded runner-up in a five-way tie with Atamifuji, Kusano, Ōnosato, and Tamawashi, also earning the Technique prize.
During the 2025 May tournament, Aonishiki had a strong showing, finishing with an eleventh victory and winning his second Fighting Spirit special prize.
In the 2025 March tournament, Aonishiki was officially promoted to the top division. This tied him with both Takerufuji and the former Jōkōryū as the fastest to be promoted from debut to the top division.
