Aonishiki Arata is a Ukrainian professional sumo wrestler hailing from Vinnytsia, Vinnytska Oblast. He is the second Ukrainian to join the world of professional sumo wrestling, following Shishi's debut in 2020. Aonishiki competes out of Ajigawa stable and has achieved a highest rank of sekiwake.
Aonishiki Arata, the first Ukrainian, has achieved a significant milestone by winning a Sumo tournament. He stunned Hoshoryu, keeping his Kyushu title hopes alive and regaining the lead. Onosato faltered in the competition.
In 1958, the six-tournament system was introduced in sumo wrestling. Aonishiki became the fifth fastest promotion since the introduction of the six-tournament system after his debut.
In 1960, the seven-day tournament system for wrestlers in makushita and below was introduced.
In 1984, Konishiki set the record of 14 tournaments to get his first gold star in the six-tournament system.
In 1991, Akebono became the first new sekiwake since to secure winning records in every tournament while climbing from the bottom jonokuchi division to sumo's third-highest rank.
In 2002, Yavhusishyn watched an online video of the match between yokozuna Takanohana and then-ōzeki Asashōryū during the Autumn Tournament, which inspired him and planted the idea of becoming a professional wrestler.

In 2019, Yavhusishyn met Arata Yamanaka, Kansai University sumo club captain, at the World Junior Championships, forming a friendship that would later help him seek refuge in Japan.

In July 2023, Yavhusishyn officially joined Ajigawa stable's training camp and took the new apprentice examination.
In January 2024, Aonishiki won the jonidan division after a playoff against Kokonoe stable's Chiyotaiko, claiming his second championship.
In the March 2024 tournament, Aonishiki was promoted to sandanme, but his 20-bout winning streak since his debut ended with a loss to Nagamura.
In June 2024, Aonishiki was helped by Wakatakakage who assisted him with training.
