Cancún is the most populous city in Quintana Roo, Mexico, situated on the northeast coast of the Yucatán Peninsula. A major tourist destination located on the Caribbean Sea, it serves as the seat of the Benito Juárez municipality and lies just north of the Riviera Maya resort area. It holds significance as one of Mexico's easternmost points.
