Charles Oliveira is a Brazilian mixed martial artist, a fourth-degree black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and the former UFC Lightweight Champion. He currently competes in the Lightweight division of the UFC. As of April 2024, he is ranked #2 in the UFC lightweight rankings and as of February 2025, he is ranked #14 in the UFC men's pound-for-pound rankings. Known for his prolific finishing ability, Oliveira holds the UFC record for the most submission wins.
In October 1989, Charles Oliveira was born in a favela in Guarujá, São Paulo, Brazil. At age 7, he was diagnosed with heart murmur and rheumatic fever, initially preventing him from playing sports.

In 2007, as a blue belt, Oliveira became a two-time CBJJE World Champion.
