Dalston Kingsland is a London Overground station on the Mildmay line, situated on Kingsland High Street in Dalston, Hackney. It resides in Travelcard Zone 2, bordering Islington. The station is located opposite Ridley Road Market and uses ticket barriers. It serves as a local transport hub within the Dalston area, providing Overground services to passengers.
On May 16, 1983, the station was rebuilt and reopened as part of the Crosstown Linkline service.
In 1983, the current Dalston Kingsland station was opened by British Rail.
In 1986, Dalston Junction closed, along with the rest of the line to Broad Street.
In August 2002, a potentially serious railway accident was avoided near Dalston Kingsland when a passenger train was inadvertently diverted onto the goods line.
In February 2010, the North London line between Gospel Oak and Stratford closed to enable the installation of a new signalling system and platform extensions as part of the four-car train program.
On April 27, 2010, Dalston Junction reopened on the London Overground East London line extension, allowing interchange with Dalston Kingsland.
On June 1, 2010, the North London line between Gospel Oak and Stratford reopened after a closure for signalling upgrades and platform extensions.
Until May 2011, engineering work continued, resulting in reduced services and suspended Sunday services.
In November 2024, the new London Overground line names and colours were introduced across the London rail network.
