Daniel Sprong is a Dutch professional ice hockey player currently playing right wing for the Coachella Valley Firebirds (AHL) while contracted to the New Jersey Devils (NHL). Drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2015 after a junior career with the Charlottetown Islanders (QMJHL), he played parts of four seasons with the Penguins and their AHL affiliate. Sprong was then traded to the Anaheim Ducks, spending two seasons there before being traded to the Washington Capitals in 2020. He also played for the Seattle Kraken, Detroit Red Wings, and Vancouver Canucks before returning to Seattle.
On March 17, 1997, Daniel Sprong was born in the Netherlands. He is currently a Dutch professional ice hockey right winger.
In 2005, Sprong and his family moved from the Netherlands to Canada to further his hockey career.

After a sub-par training camp with the Ducks, Daniel Sprong was placed on waivers prior to the 2019-20 season and, upon going unclaimed, was reassigned to the San Diego Gulls.
On February 24, 2020, Daniel Sprong was traded to the Washington Capitals in exchange for Christian Djoos.
