Fernando Vargas

Fernando Vargas is a Mexican-American former professional boxer. He competed from 1997 to 2007 and was a two-time light middleweight world champion, holding the IBF title (1998-2000) and the WBA title (2001-2002). Before turning professional, Vargas won a bronze medal at the 1995 Pan American Games in the light welterweight division. He also participated in the 1996 Olympics, reaching the second round in the welterweight bracket.
