Grenada is a Caribbean island country located in the West Indies. Situated as the southernmost of the Windward Islands, it lies south of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and approximately 100 miles north of Trinidad and the South American mainland. It is known for its natural beauty and is often referred to as the "Island of Spice" due to its production of nutmeg and mace crops.

1975: Entry into the Inter-American system

In 1975 Grenada entered into the Inter-American system according to the OAS's website.

1976: St. George's University Founded

St. George's University (SGU) was founded in Grenada in 1976, specializing in medicine, veterinary medicine, public health, and other health sciences.

1983: United States Invasion

In 1983 the Regional Security System (RSS) who participated in the United States invasion of Grenada.

1984: Summer Olympics debut

Grenada has competed in every Summer Olympics since the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

2016: Silver medal at the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro

In 2016 Kirani James won the silver medal in the men's 400 meters at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

2016: Government Budget on Education

In 2020 Kirani James won the bronze medal in the men's 400 meters at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

November 2021: Prime Minister's Announcement

In November 2021, Prime Minister Keith Mitchell announced that the upcoming general elections would be his last.

May 2022: Parliament Dissolved

2024: Bronze medals at the Summer Olympics in France
