John Metchie III

John Metchie III is a Taiwanese-Canadian professional football wide receiver and kickoff returner currently playing for the New York Jets in the NFL. He previously played college football at the University of Alabama, where he twice won the Jon Cornish Trophy. He was drafted by the Houston Texans in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Unfortunately, Metchie's rookie season was sidelined due to a diagnosis of acute promyelocytic leukemia. However, he successfully recovered and returned to the field in 2023.
