Kacey Musgraves is an American singer and songwriter who started her career in the early 2000s with self-released albums and as part of the duo Texas Two Bits. She gained wider recognition after appearing on Nashville Star in 2007. In 2012, she signed with Mercury Nashville, releasing the hit "Merry Go 'Round." Her major-label debut album, Same Trailer Different Park (2013), earned her a Grammy Award for Best Country Album.
