Lincoln Financial Field is an American football stadium in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, serving as the home of the Philadelphia Eagles (NFL) and the Temple Owls football team. Located in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex, it sits on Pattison Avenue between 11th and South Darien streets near I-95. The stadium has a seating capacity of 67,594.

June 2002: Naming Rights Sold

In June 2002, naming rights for the stadium were sold to the Lincoln Financial Group for $139.6 million over 21 years.

August 3, 2003: Stadium Opens

On August 3, 2003, Lincoln Financial Field opened after two years of construction, replacing Veterans Stadium.

August 13, 2003: Agreement with Temple University

On August 13, 2003, the Philadelphia Eagles and Temple University announced a 15-year agreement for Temple to play their home football games at Lincoln Financial Field.

September 6, 2003: Temple's First Game at Lincoln Financial Field

On September 6, 2003, Temple played its first game at Lincoln Financial Field against Villanova, the teams' first meeting since 1980.

2003: Army-Navy Game at Lincoln Financial Field

In 2003, Lincoln Financial Field hosted the Army-Navy Game for the first time. The Linc hosted the game five times between 2003 and 2009.

August 2004: Manchester United vs. Celtic and AC Milan vs. Chelsea

In late July and early August 2004, Manchester United played Celtic and AC Milan played Chelsea in two friendly matches at Lincoln Financial Field.

November 6, 2004: U.S. Women's Team vs. Denmark

On November 6, 2004, the U.S. women's national soccer team played at Lincoln Financial Field as part of their "Fan Celebration Tour", losing 3–1 to Denmark in front of 14,812 spectators. This was the final national team appearance for Mia Hamm, Joy Fawcett, and Julie Foudy.

On October 30, 2008, the Philadelphia Phillies celebrated their 2008 World Series championship with a parade, an appearance before a sold-out crowd at Lincoln Financial Field, and a ceremony at Citizens Bank Park which was simulcast at the Linc. Tickets to the event at Lincoln Financial Field were made available at no cost to the public.

June 9, 2009: Army-Navy Game Scheduled

On June 9, 2009, it was announced that the Army–Navy game would be played in Philadelphia at Lincoln Financial Field in 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2017.

February 23, 2019: 2019 NHL Stadium Series

On February 23, 2019, the Philadelphia Flyers defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 4–3 in overtime in the 2019 NHL Stadium Series at Lincoln Financial Field. The game was played in front of a crowd of 69,620, the largest record attendance for a hockey game in Pennsylvania.

August 29, 2019: US Women's National Team vs. Portugal

On August 29, 2019, Lincoln Financial Field hosted the US Women's National Team in a game against Portugal, which was the second match of their victory tour. The United States won 4–0 and The match set the record for the highest attendance for the team in a friendly match, attracting 49,504 fans.
