Mike Peters is a Welsh musician, primarily recognized as the lead vocalist of the band the Alarm. After the Alarm's initial disbandment in 1991, he pursued a solo career and later revived the band in 2000. He broadened his musical endeavors by briefly fronting Big Country between 2011 and 2013, while simultaneously leading the Alarm. Beyond his musical contributions, Peters is also known as the co-founder of the Love Hope Strength Foundation, showcasing his commitment to philanthropic work.
On February 25, 1959, Michael Leslie Peters, who became known as the lead singer of The Alarm, was born.
On October 10, 1975, Mike Peters made his musical debut fronting Hairy Hippie at his sister's birthday party, performing a cover of "If You Think You Know How to Love Me" by Smokie.
In 1976, after seeing the Sex Pistols play in Chester, Mike Peters formed his first proper band, The Toilets. Their first song performed live was "Nothing to Do" at the Palace Hotel in Rhyl.
In May 1978, Mike Peters, along with MacDonald, Dave Sharp, and Nigel Twist, formed the band Seventeen. Their first song was "Pop Generation", performed at the Bee Hotel in Rhyl on May 27, 1978.
In 1979, Seventeen released the single "Don't Let Go" on the Vendetta label.
On June 10, 1981, The Alarm played their first gig at the Victoria Hotel in Prestatyn, with "Shout to the Devil" being the first song performed, which Peters wrote that day.
In November 1981, The Alarm released their first single, "Unsafe Building", on their own label.
In 1981, The Alarm was formed and moved to London, signing with the IRS label. The band's name originated from a song written by Peters for The Toilets.
In 1986, Mike Peters met his future wife, Jules, while she was a student at Bangor University. They were engaged two weeks later.
In 1991, Mike Peters left The Alarm on stage at the Brixton Academy, effectively causing the band to split up.

In 1996, Mike Peters recovered from lymph cancer and resumed recording and touring, also presenting a show on BBC Radio Wales called Bedrock.
Mike Peters started "The Interactive Acoustic Works U.S. Tour" in Boston on October 10, 1998, following the release of his album Rise. The album Live (From a Broadcast) included a version of "68 Guns", which reinstated an extra verse.
In 1998, Mike Peters released the album Rise, showcasing a change in musical direction and featuring collaborations with Billy Duffy on the song "In Circles".
In 1999, Mike Peters formed the band Coloursound with Billy Duffy, Scott Garret, and Craig Adams, recording one eponymous studio album.

In September 2024, Mike Peters was reported to be in remission from Richter’s Syndrome following a clinical trial at the Christie NHS Foundation Trust, Manchester.
In December 2024, Mike Peters reported that he had not achieved complete remission and undertook Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-Cell therapy in early 2025.
