Mstrkrft is a Canadian electronic music duo formed in Toronto in 2005. It consists of Jesse F. Keeler, known from Death from Above, and Al-P, formerly of Girlsareshort. Al-P also produced Death from Above's album. The duo has a long-standing friendship and working relationship. Mstrkrft has also produced music for other artists, including Die Mannequin's first EP and Magneta Lane's second LP.
In 1979, Mstrkrft was commissioned to remix songs by various artists, including Death From Above 1979, marking an early point in their remixing career.
In 2002, Al-P's electronic pop group, Girlsareshort, released their album Contactkiss, showcasing Al-P's musical activity before MSTRKRFT.
In 2003, Al-P's electronic pop group, Girlsareshort, released their album Earlynorthamerican before disbanding, marking the end of this musical project for Al-P before MSTRKRFT.

In July 2006, Mstrkrft released their debut album, "The Looks", in the United States. Even as the album was being finished, the planning stages for a follow-up record had already begun.

In September 2007, Mstrkrft performed at the Parklife music festival in Brisbane, Australia. They performed their remix of the song "Woman" from Wolfmother, with Andrew Stockdale of Wolfmother appearing on stage to sing live.
In May 2008, Mstrkrft was featured on BBC Radio 1 show, The Essential Mix, showcasing their music to a wider audience.
On March 17, 2009, Mstrkrft released their second LP, "Fist of God". The album featured guest appearances by John Legend, E-40, N.O.R.E., and Lil' Mo, among others.
In 2010, Mstrkrft's song “Bounce’ featuring N.O.R.E. was featured in DJ Hero 2, adding their music to the gaming world.
In 2011, Mstrkrft released two new singles, "Beards Again" and "Back in the USSA", expanding their discography with new material.
In 2013, Mstrkrft's "Beards Again" was featured on the Injustice: Gods Among Us video game soundtrack, showcasing their music in the gaming industry.
In May 2016, Mstrkrft released the single "Party Line" to promote their upcoming album, "Operator".
On July 22, 2016, Mstrkrft released their third LP, "Operator", adding to their album discography.
Starting in May 2019, Mstrkrft began releasing a single every month on ORO Records, including "City Violence", "La Chiaccherona", "All Night, All Night", "Buffalo Fat", and "Dorsia".
