October 2, 2022: Original Overwatch Servers Shut Down

By mid-2022, Blizzard affirmed that Overwatch 2 live services would replace those of the original game; the original Overwatch servers would be shut down on October 2, 2022.

October 4, 2022: Planned Release Date Announced

February 2024: Combat and Competitive System Overhaul
