UHC2030 is a global platform uniting various stakeholders to accelerate progress towards universal health coverage (UHC). It focuses on mobilizing political commitment, ensuring accountability, and fostering collaborative efforts to strengthen health systems. Co-hosted by the World Health Organization, the World Bank, and the OECD, UHC2030 aims to drive action and advance UHC worldwide.

September 2007: IHP+ Partnership Begins

In September 2007, the International Health Partnership (IHP+) was established as an international initiative with the aim to enhance effective development cooperation in the health sector. This partnership was designed to expedite progress towards achieving the Millennium Development Goals by fostering a unified health strategy among stakeholders.

September 2016: UHC2030 Formally Established

In September 2016, UHC2030 was formally established at a high-level side event during the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). This new partnership expanded the scope of work of IHP+ to include health systems strengthening toward the achievement of UHC, focusing on health systems strengthening and domestic spending in all countries.

September 2019: UHC Goal Reaffirmed

In September 2019, the goal of achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) by 2030 was reaffirmed in the Political Declaration adopted by all member states at the UN High-Level Meeting on Universal Health Coverage.
