Bol Manute Bol is a South Sudanese-American professional basketball player currently playing for the Phoenix Suns in the NBA. Standing at 7 feet 3 inches, he is one of the tallest players in the league. He is the son of the late Manute Bol, a former NBA player also known for his exceptional height. Bol was born in Sudan and raised in the Kansas City area. He was a highly-regarded high school player in the class of 2018, earning a five-star recruit rating and McDonald's All-American honors before playing college basketball for the Oregon Ducks.
In 1998, after an American missile strike during the Second Sudanese Civil War, Bol's father, Manute Bol, was accused of being an American spy and barred from leaving Sudan.
On November 16, 1999, Bol Bol was born in Khartoum, Sudan. He is the son of former NBA player Manute Bol.
In 2001, Bol Bol's family was stranded in Cairo, Egypt for several months due to visa issues despite having tickets to the United States.
In 2013, Bol Bol's brother, Madut, graduated from Southern University where he played college basketball.
On December 11, 2014, Bol Bol debuted for the Bishop Miege junior varsity team, showcasing his shot-blocking and shooting abilities.
In February 2015, Bol Bol became eligible for the Bishop Miege varsity team due to transfer rules, although he did not earn playing time.

In April 2016, Bol Bol received a scholarship offer from the University of Kansas.
In November 2016, Bol Bol announced his transfer from Bishop Miege to Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California for his junior year, encouraged by head coach Gary McKnight.
On January 24, 2017, Bol Bol debuted for Mater Dei, recording 21 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocks in a game against Orange Lutheran High School.
In November 2017, Bol Bol transferred to Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nevada, and committed to play college basketball for Oregon.
