He was drafted 38th overall by the New York Knicks in the 2024 NBA draft, but was immediately traded to the Thunder. Before the NBA, Mitchell played college basketball at UC Santa Barbara. In his rookie season with the Thunder, he won an NBA championship in 2025. He also plays for the Belgium national team.
