Bennedict Mathurin is a Canadian professional basketball player currently playing for the Indiana Pacers in the NBA. He gained recognition during his college career with the Arizona Wildcats, earning consensus second-team All-American honors and being named Pac-12 Player of the Year. Mathurin was drafted sixth overall by the Pacers in the 2022 NBA draft. Showing early promise in his professional career, he was selected for the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2023 and was a contender for the NBA Rookie of the Year award, finishing fourth in the voting.
On February 13, 2023, Mathurin became the fastest Pacer rookie since Chuck Person in the 1986–87 season to reach 1,000 career points.
