Bowen Byram is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman currently playing for the Buffalo Sabres in the NHL. He formerly played for the Colorado Avalanche. Byram has also represented Canada in international ice hockey competitions.

During the 2015 AMBHL season, Byram was the top-scoring defenceman in the league, with 22 goals and 37 assists in 34 games.
On October 21, 2017, playing his first full season with the Giants, Byram scored his first WHL goal as part of a 5–2 victory over the Regina Pats.
On November 22, 2018, only 23 games into the 2018–19 season, Byram scored his seventh goal of the season, surpassing his previous season totals.
On January 13, 2019, after a five-point game against the Kamloops Blazers, Byram was named the WHL On the Run Player of the Week.
On July 19, 2019, Byram signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Colorado Avalanche.
In 2019, Byram was drafted fourth overall by the Colorado Avalanche in the NHL entry draft.
In 2019, Byram was invited to join the Avalanche for their training camp, but was returned to the Giants for the 2019–20 season.
In 2020, Byram was named the WHL Player of the Month after returning from the World Juniors, with seven goals and 17 assists through 12 games in February.
In 2020, while in concussion protocols, Byram contracted COVID-19, which exacerbated his symptoms, particularly vertigo.
On January 21, 2021, Byram made his NHL debut with the Colorado Avalanche in a 4–2 loss to the Los Angeles Kings.
On October 13, 2021, Byram scored his first NHL goal against Marc-André Fleury of the Chicago Blackhawks.
In 2021, Bowen Byram was initially named an alternate captain for the World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. After a wrist injury to captain Kirby Dach, Byram and Dylan Cozens were promoted to the role. He scored one goal and five points in seven games, helping Canada capture second place and being named to the Media All-Star team in 2021.
During the 2022 Stanley Cup playoffs, Byram was a break-out player, helping the Colorado Avalanche win the championship.
During the 2022-23 NHL season, Byram suffered a lower-body injury during the Avalanche's November trip to New York.
On July 1, 2023, the Avalanche signed Byram to a two-year, $7.7 million contract extension.
During the 2022–23 season, Byram recorded a career-high 10 goals and 24 points. The season concluded in 2023.
On March 6, 2024, the Avalanche traded Byram to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for centre Casey Mittelstadt.
In 2024, Bowen Byram represented Canada at the IIHF World Championship in Czechia, after the Buffalo Sabres did not qualify for the Stanley Cup playoffs. Byram recorded one goal and five points in nine games, with Canada finishing in fourth place after losing to the Swedish national team in the bronze-medal match.
