Diego Pavia is an American college football quarterback currently playing for the Vanderbilt Commodores. Prior to joining Vanderbilt, he gained experience at New Mexico Military Institute and New Mexico State, showcasing his progression and talent within college football programs.

In the season finale against Valparaiso in 2017, Pavia left the game in the second quarter with a hamstring injury, as New Mexico State won 65–3 to become bowl eligible for the first time since 2017.
In 2021, Pavia led the NMMI Broncos to the NJCAA National Football Championship. During that season, he threw for 21 touchdowns with only one interception. In the championship game against Iowa Western, he contributed two touchdowns through passing and one through rushing, securing a 31–13 victory for the Broncos.
In the 2022 Quick Lane Bowl against Bowling Green, Pavia completed 17 of 29 passing attempts for 167 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 65 yards and recovered his own fumble late in the fourth quarter, securing the 24-19 win and earning him Quick Lane Bowl MVP honors.
On December 23, 2023, Diego Pavia announced his decision to enter the transfer portal. He initially committed to play for Nevada before changing course after a conversation with Kill.
On January 18, 2024, Diego Pavia announced his transfer to Vanderbilt, following Kill.
On October 5, 2024, Diego Pavia led Vanderbilt to an upset victory over No. 1 Alabama, marking Vanderbilt's first win against a top-5 team in program history. Pavia completed 16 of 20 passes for 252 yards and two touchdowns, and also ran for 56 yards in the game.
In November 2024, while playing at Vanderbilt, Pavia filed a lawsuit against the NCAA, alleging that NCAA NIL policies for redshirts and JUCO years violated the Sherman Antitrust Act.
In 2024, Pavia reflected on his recruitment process, mentioning that he received no scholarship offers from NCAA Division I schools and only two offers from Division II schools. He believed schools were hesitant due to his height, preferring to focus on physical attributes like height, weight, and 40-yard dash times rather than his film and skills.
